In a viral moment no one saw coming on their 2025 bingo card, the world has been swept up in a bizarre debate that recently exploded online.

What debate, you ask? "Who would win in a fight between 100 men and one gorilla?"

This strange question reportedly originated from a subreddit back in 2020, but recently went viral on X (formerly Twitter), gaining even more traction after YouTube sensation MrBeast posted a joke tweet asking for 100 male volunteers to take on the hypothetical challenge of fighting a gorilla.

Since then, everyone from UFC fighters and WWE legends to world-renowned scientists has weighed in—opinions are surprisingly divided.

Now, Chelsea's own Cole Palmer has entered the conversation.

In a video shared on Instagram by Palmer’s brother and personal trainer, Nathan, the Chelsea midfielder was asked who he thinks would win: 100 men or a single gorilla?

His response was, as usual, hilariously offbeat.

"I'm saying, yeah, if you had 100 man who were willing to fight, and could actually fight…" he said, before joking, "If they’ve got 100 of you, the gorilla. If you've got 100 of me though!"

"Nah, I’m only messing," he added with a grin. "It depends, you know."

Many viewers found Palmer’s take hilarious—on par with the time he admitted he somehow failed Physical Education at school, had a pre-match mascot nearly his size, and when he cheekily mocked Blues legend Gianfranco Zola during training.

"Brilliant," one fan commented on the post. Another wrote, "What a lad."

Others chimed in with their own takes on the debate. One person confidently claimed, "100 men that are willing to do it, yes, 100% [they] will."

So, who would really win? 100 men or one gorilla? We're still waiting for David Attenborough to weigh in before we make our final call.
