Chelsea are reportedly preparing a major summer move for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, as the club looks to fix its attacking woes ahead of the 2025/26 season.
While the Blues have made it to the Europa Conference League final, their Premier League form has been inconsistent, with manager Enzo Maresca facing mounting scrutiny. His cautious tactics and questionable squad selections have often left fans frustrated.
Goals have also been hard to come by. Cole Palmer endured an 18-game drought between January and May, while striker Nicolas Jackson has scored just 12 times this season despite numerous chances.

Out wide, Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, and Pedro Neto have all shown flashes but lacked consistency.
To address their lack of firepower, Chelsea are now reportedly ready to trigger Eze’s £68 million release clause.
According to Fichajes, the clause becomes active at the end of the season, and Chelsea are keen to bring the 25-year-old England international to Stamford Bridge.
Eze has two years left on his deal at Palace but is said to have decided against renewing, aiming “to take a leap forward in his career and fight for titles.”
Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also interested, with the latter having already snapped up Michael Olise from Palace last summer.

Eze has enjoyed a sensational season under Oliver Glasner, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists – including the decisive strike in the FA Cup final against City. His technical brilliance and composure on the ball have made him one of the league’s most exciting attacking midfielders.
Former striker Clinton Morrison recently praised Eze’s all-around game.
“He’s been phenomenal,” Morrison said. “He’s a joy to watch – someone I would pay money to see. He makes the game look easy, effortless, smooth. “He’s scoring goals and providing assists. I know him personally – he’s humble, driven, and always looking to improve.”
Should Chelsea secure his signature, Eze could be the creative spark they’ve so sorely missed.
