After a frustrating campaign at Stamford Bridge, Christopher Nkunku could be on the move this summer – and in a twist few Chelsea fans will welcome, one of the clubs interested is none other than Tottenham Hotspur.
Nkunku joined Chelsea in 2023 from RB Leipzig in a £52 million deal with high expectations, having been named Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2021/22.
But despite flashes of quality, his time in west London has been derailed by injuries and inconsistency.
Now, according to TalkSPORT, Chelsea are open to selling the Frenchman this summer, and Tottenham have made an enquiry as they prepare for a major squad rebuild. Bayern Munich are also reportedly in the race, but Nkunku is said to be open to staying in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old ended the 2024/25 season with 14 goals and 5 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, though just three of those goals came in the league. He was also an unused substitute in the Europa Conference League final, as Chelsea thrashed Real Betis 4-1 in Poland.

Despite not always featuring under Enzo Maresca, Nkunku still has admirers within the squad.
Speaking earlier this year, right-back Malo Gusto said: “He’s one of my closest guys. Christo is a top player, everyone knows. I don’t know what I can say about him now. He tries to give his best. After is the coach’s choice.”
Meanwhile, centre-back Wesley Fofana said of Nkunku back in October: “I have rarely seen someone finish so well in front of goal,”
Chelsea are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of £50 million. Whether Spurs are prepared to meet that valuation remains to be seen – but selling a talented player to a direct rival would certainly raise eyebrows among the Stamford Bridge faithful.
With the Blues set for another busy summer of transfers under Maresca, Nkunku’s future will be one of several key decisions in the coming weeks.
